How to play Parallel Lives: revisit choices and compare timelines
A five-minute guide to the free browser life simulator.
1. Begin with an imagined life
Choose “Begin a life”. Your fictional starting circumstances are generated from a seed, not from personal birth information or national statistics.
2. Make twelve choices
Read each age chapter and choose one of three responses. Energy, freedom, connection and meaning change with the story. The scores do not measure your worth.
3. Reach the ending before replaying
At the end, choose a turning point and “Take the other road”. Your starting point and outside moments stay constant. The new choices form another path.
4. Compare the lives beside yours
Complete at least two paths from the same seed to see them side by side. Compare the trade-offs as well as the final scores. There is no universal winning route.
5. Keep or share a story
Download a free SVG story card or an HTML journal. Open the journal to print or save as PDF. A share link contains the fictional seed and choice numbers; anyone with the link can view that story.
English, Chinese and saved progress
Use EN / 中文 to switch. Progress is stored in the current browser on the current domain. A different device or domain will not automatically have the same save. Shared links preserve the scripted life across languages.
Free story and planned paid edition
The current story, endings, replays and exports are free. The proposed US$4.99 one-time Founder Edition adds three stories. It is still in development; online checkout is not open.
